small port should have the oil drain on the back of the head. I'm pretty sure it still applies on GZE
hey all. searched and couldnt find.
how can i tell if my gze is bigport or smallport. see I'm in need of an intake manifold for turbs conv and I'm under the impression that if its bigport, ill need a bp manifold and vice versa. true?
so yea how can i tell. not sure of the car it came from.

bigport = afm
smallport = map
can be changed etc.
maybe a compression test?
By far the easiest way to tell is to take off the inlet manifold. Bigport ports are not evenly spaced (1 2 . . 3 4) while smallport ports are (1 2 3 4).
Or if you have an original wiring loom read the dates off any of the wires (they can be a bitch to find, but every wire should have a year printed on it somewhere).

I'm not 100% sure but I would have assumed you would be able to tell by comparing the runners. Here are the best pics I could find of a smallport and bigport inlet manifold...
