<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Teddy @ Apr 21 2008, 11:52 PM) </div>bingo! provided your rotor is healthy, operating temp before you drive and a couple of minutes cool down when your finished.
plus i think you'll be able to budget a rebuild, every four-five years. it's only a few seals and gaskets

stock example? do u mean rb26 a gtst?

patience u shouldnt have put up that link!! now i want one too!!! :o

i for one love the idea of rotors and i def want to own a fc in the next 5 or so years, but my dad is always verY against them due to the whole rebuild thing.. i reckon they're alrite provided they've been looked after, also do u think its older people (like my dad) who are more against rotors cause they grew up when rotors were new and people didnt take care of them, but maybe now in 2008 rotor owners know better and do take care of them?

The FD is one of the best car's i've owned/driven. Its plagued with ongoing maintenance and cost. If you can realistically afford it, then go for it.

Its hard to thrash an FD without breaking speed limits as its designed as a high end sports car e.g. 290km/hr speed limit (and its not a fake speed limit either, i've done 240 in it and it was a sinch since the car gets better to more higher you rev and faster you go - thats the ultimate difference between fast and junk).

I sold the FD for an 86. 86 is more thrashable...its just slow

the only thing that was dead was speedo but the revs were just fine.
2 days at wakefield and the next 2 days of burning rubber in a private factory she just shit herself.
the car was cooled down and warmed up.
the motor had a rebuild on it 25,000km prior, it wasnt turbo.

^^^^mayb it was the rebuild.. ????

i think it would make sense fora rotor or anyother piston motor to be rebuilt after every 100,00kms, if its had a hard life .... just make sense really ... thrashed motor do tend to last long ...
