Where did you get the 100,000km figure from? A lot of the USA guys seem to pop their motors at around 100,000 miles (160,000km) But this is with stock motors that are thrashed all the time.

Rotors can last for ages if you just treat them right. No need to let them idle in the morning, just jump in and drive it slowly till shes up to operating temp for a few mins, then u can thrash it. Do oil and filter every 5k (use a mineral blend, not a 100% synthetic).Make sure your OMP is working or just run a premix. Never over heat them, a big one for fcs because once you slap a fmic on your cooling is drasticly reduced. It's all really common stuff to be honest. If you follow this then they'll last you for ages. And honestly, who owns a car for more than 160,000 km? If you avg 15k per year thats like 11 years.

If you're serious about an FC jump on ausrotary and have a search around, put all the myths to rest

ive been on ausrotary for a few months now. the 100,000km rebuild was just a side note. if/when i ever get one i would probably rebuild the engine straight up anyway.

i was really just wondering if i should go rotary or gtr. will i get bored quicker of a rotary because its still FR or of the gtr because its AWD? FR is what ive driven for years but so many people saw AWD cars are boring as hell. :ermm:

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (damo46 @ Apr 22 2008, 03:25 PM) </div>From my understanding, a VERY good and expensive well done tune is needed to keep them lasting long, and PP's don't last all that long anyway from what i've read.

    haha

i don't mind rotarys but i personally wouldn't own one. i have no patience are they are reasonably heavy on fuel

    my mates got a S2 with a 13 extend port and a 48ida weber? about 94rwks

handels beuatifully in the hills and grips the rd like anything

but hes had problems with throttle cables snapping and a few other things

up to u in the end

all i can say is that u have a good income

32's are my favourtie skyline, and id love a converted RWD gtr one day

i had a 93 JZA80 manual NA supra it went up hills great no turbo lag reved its tits off, kept up with 90% turbo stuff. can get these really cheap now very comfy, suspension is awesome and i had full support from my local toyota. easy to work on and was standard except exhaust and airfilter had 117 rwkw but plenty of tourqe. had plenty of mates thinking they were heavy tanks and gave the car plenty of crap but very shortly shut up once on cruises hill runs, but back in 2002 not many had the opertunity to drive or own one in my group of friends.

jarryd how can you call an fc gay when you drive a stock ke?

love the cars, been looking into an fc for about 2 months now. i love the shape, yeah downside is rebuilding motors and petrol.

parts are easy as to come buy, there is a strong rotar community in australia.

oh and 18bt go for shit all these days!
