just wanna know the difference between a mini and a full spool and weather they are practical or not.
i like the idea of these more than a welded diff because its less dodgey.
where are these available from or how much would they cost to get made for an e or f series diff?
practicle, no they arnt
id rather weldies because they atleast offer some sort of give on the axles

biggo, why would you say that a weldy would have more give than a spool? :wacko:
a minispool replaces the spider gears inside the diff with a solid piece of steel with splines in it for the axles
a full spool replaces the whole centre, bolt your crownwheel on & slide axles in
if you are breaking axles with a weldy you will break axles with a minispool or spool
theyre mainly for diffs that arent easy to weld or break spider gears

they are essentially the same as a welded diff, cept you don't weld, you just replace the whole centre with a new one, that is already "locked"
i would probably buy one over a welded diff, since then you don't have to worry about dodgy welding/welds snapping.

where do you get minispools for S and T series? anyone know?
I have found full spools for T series diff from time to time, both steel or aluminium. Some place in USA makes them, as a T series diff is used for those funny little cart/car things. (Like Aussie Legends, but in USA) A full spool is desirable over a normal welded diff or a mini spool because it is lighter.
But in a full size car, the T series axles snap too often. So for a normal car with a T series, a 2-way LSD is the way to go. All the benifits of a locker, but nicer to drive and no snapped axles.

if i wanted to spend $$$ i would have a JZX100
mini full and weldys are all exactely the same to drive with because they are all 100% locked
minispool slots inside stock centre reaplcing spiders and carrier
full spool replaces the whole centre, you bolt your crown to it and away you go
