    hey guys.

i just wanted to put the question out there as to what you specifically need to mod in the corona struts..
heres my idea, but i this is a collaboration of other peoples + a few of my own.

corolla top hats, cut ford EB springs, corolla spring seat, corona strut leg, corona steering arm, corona LCA, corona brakes (caliper and disc) for the front.
NOTE: brakes is for the time being, i plan to go up to the hilux/peugot upgrade when i can.

KYB VN wagon shocks and cut ke70 springs in the rear.

note that my car isnt aimmed specifically at drift but grip, so i don't want the stiffest back end.

i just want to know from others:
    1. if this is the correct way to do it or if the corona strut COMPLETE bolts in or what.
    2. what shocks do i run on the front end if i want to lower my car about 2 inches.
    3. do the ford front springs from the EA-EB falcon go into the front of a ke70.

i can't really afford to have my car off of the road for long, so i need to know this stuff so my car isnt gonna just sit there while i need to be at work, earning the money for later upgrades

    cheers.

edit: i meant LCA not RCA

    to start you off...

that is the best way to do the upgrade...

you will need to use the corona steering knuckle, which i believe will bolt on to the std control arm...

i would recomend converting the struts to coilovers so that you eliminate the extra positive camber induced by this front end swap

    <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Meathead #1 @ May 16 2008, 09:17 PM) </div>How would converting to coilover change the camber?

You could use the corona (XT130) lower control arm to give more camber.

Um, no. You can run a coilover setup with std strut tops.

xt130 are the go you can use 86 ps arms ane rca on them. you don't have to change the spring seat your spring will still sit in there.
If you grab the struts from a wreckers grab the lca at the same time for extra track. its too easy

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (egg_83 @ May 17 2008, 05:35 PM) </div>Are you sure the corona spring seat with fit in the strut tower? Or did you mean if you use the longer control arm it will fit?

I fitted ra65 struts in a ae71 without changing spring seat. And I'm pretty sure they have a larger spring seat.

the spring seat doesnt sit in the strut tower, its the spring dia that is the main concern and the falcon spring intended to be used fit fine

EDIT: Do you mean the top spring hat? If so yes this has to be changed

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Sparkle86 @ May 17 2008, 05:11 PM) </div>the reason for the extra positive camber is the length of the strut....so obviously by converting to coilover you remove the extra length in the strut....

best way to do it would be...

    corona struts
    CPH brake upgrade
    xt130 control arms

gives you the nice bit of extra track plus eliminates the extra length in the strut....
