[attachment=27379SC01421.JPG]Ive seen 4ac heads on 7afe 1.8lt blocks. I heard you don't need to mod anything for this conversion.
Is the power good? is it worth it? do i need to find a new cambelt to suit?

    1. why is there an engine crane in your post

    2. better of just getting a 7afe and put a carby on it......if you really must.

    3. just get a 4age, it will be better

    agreed.

yes a 4ac should fit on unless the 4afe has meaty pistons that stick out past the top of the block.

would make a fairly toquey motor for a daily driven ae71, but other than that i wouldn't think it would be worth it.

whats the power figure of a stock 7afe? well putting a 4ac head on it will decrease the power. you wont gain any compression either, 4ac and 7afe have near identical combustion chamber cc's

If you want to keep it carby you could use a 7afe with the carb/manifold/distributor from a 4afc.

With a 32/36 weber on it it would be a rather torquey motor. Also if you look up Billzilla's page on Google you will find some good info on getting decent hp out of the f series heads as well.

Wish I had thought of it earlier, would have been an interesting conversion

oh and your other question about the timing belt. you should be able to use a 7afe one because it only drives the one cam gear as does the 4ac but i don't know if the 7a block is slightly taller and would require a longer belt than a 4ac.
