You sound like you've had a bit to do with the ole 7a bottom ends - what do you think it would need to live a happy life at 7500 rpm or so? I'm thinking a pretty standard bigport head, plus carbs and the 1.8 bottom end to turn it into a bit torquier motor, while still having the rev range to be good on the track.
Would treating the standard rods/crank, balancing and (I'm guessing here) a set of custom pistons to maintain the compression ratio get it there? Or could the block be decked to up the compression, retaining a set of balanced standard pistons?
I haven't even got my 4age in and I'm wanting to go 7a... ha ha ha
