Have had my 86 for about a year now and have just under $ 5000 to spend on getting a engine conversion complete. Fully done and tuned etc. Considering the 20v black but still unsure.

Any recomendations as to what engine would be the go ? would like it to run quite hard but can't drive turbo atm.

Also where are some places in sydney ,or within a shortish drive

    Cheers

    loootts of variables!!!!

    define "fully done"

are you talking $5000 worth of parts, and you doing all the labor in your garage?

if so then you can build a nice 20V no probs (within reason, cams + aftermarket ecu i reckon)

but if your going to pay someone to do it, then you are going to struggle to get a stocko big port for that much "fully done".

LS1 is a sick engine for an AE86. the engine conversion is never done either so it will be different

Bp ultimate with some octaine booster and Nos and some moth balls would like you about 10 years with 5k

under 5 isnt quite enough to do a drive in drive out 20v silver. BT's are quite alot rarer, if you find one at a good price, you might come close-ish to doing it for around 5 with stock management.

get yourself a jdm ae86 and do it yourself, and youll have money left of for some suspension ect.

if you swap the dash loom and engine loom (body) youll only need to run 1 wire for the fuel pump, and sort out a fuel system. everything else is bolt in save for the exhaust, which any exhaust shop can do.

if you get a good one, later you can do cams and it will come close to matching an ST and sound better.
