OK the ECU in my sprinter has died and I need to replace it. What I need to know is were there different models of the stock ECU released in the JDM AE86. If so are they interchangable e.g. same pin configuration, same engine.

I'm a bit lost here, and any help/information would be much appreciated.
I apologise if the answer to this question is obvious but I have searched and haven't found what I needed.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (ae86_Guy @ Jul 19 2008, 03:57 PM) </div>There are 2 different JDM AE86 ECU's both are interchangeable, just one came in the zenki, the other in the kouki. The kouki one is in fact the designated replacement part for the zenki one.

Internally I don't know if there is any difference but there are 2 different part numbers.

There are plenty of other ECU's that will plug in though, just about any bigport ECU will work but any of the Australian ones will not allow you to develop as much power.
