Probably sounds like a stupid question but I'm not the best with wiring. Can anyone tell me how I need to wire my fuel pump/lift pump etc. so that when the ignition turns on the pump comes on for a few seconds then stops until I start the car? Instead of the pumps staying on even when the cars not started..

I'm prity sure most pumps turn themselves off when there not needed. so you just need to connect it to a + current.

i'd use 2 standard relays, switching either one will put positive to both ure pumps.

one relay turns on when u crank the car (just grab + start wire to switch this relay)

The other turns on when the ecu sees that the car has started, and outputs an earth (ive forgotten which ecu pin it is but i could check my smallport for u)

This way your pumps are only ever on when the engine is running, or when ure cranking, this is how the standard fuel pump relay on a FWD 4AGE works.

Ive done this on 3 4age convo's now and it works a treat!

fuel pumps or at least pressure pumps I've worked with are always on when they have power.

    you have an SR20 right?
pin 85 and pin 30 to some sort of power be it battery or ignition
pin 86 to the black pink wire off the ecu
pin 87 is the fuel pump power wire

If you have two pumps just do the above but with a relay for each pump.

    Done.

wire from battery to a relay...splice into your COR on your existing pump and use this as a switch to go to full 12v power from the battery whilst car is running. Easy
