I think thats why they take photos - so they can tell if you've changed things since the photos were taken? I think you'll get a letter telling to go to an authorised testing centre to get it EPA passed by a certain date. I used to get them for my exhaust being too loud - they dont even have to pull you over - first thing I knew was I'd get a letter in the mail saying my car had been spotted and reported.

shit, the same thing happened to my trueno.

was driving and a silver falcon next to me.... he looked like a massive tool by creeping over the line at a red light.... so much so, that he was almost past the pedestrian crossing (lame)... it ended uo i got caught into his stupidity and taken off HARD at the lights and then slowed down..... then parked. he comes up to me later saying an offduty cop blah blah and im like ok sorry sir, i was stupid, i wont do that. he left the scene. then 2 weeks later an EPA notice for exhaust "faulty or too loud" funny thing was, right in the middle of the city the volume would be distorted and no way to tell, as well as being a blind accusation (althought my car was WAYYY over the limit lol)......... all my fault tho.

can you give some advice on the testing process and what is required to clear it. as soon i will be going to do the EPA test, so anything you can help me with is massively appreciated.

I think they take pictures so you can't be like 'no it wasn't like that!' They usually take photos of me as well as the car so you can't say it was someone else.

But if the principle is to have the vehicle EPA passed by a certain date, than it shouldn't matter whether you've changed anything since, because the objective is to meet the standards of the EPA...no?

Fill me in if I am wrong guys.

ok epa is a shit fight my friend atm is trying to get his car passed he needs the original air box o2 sensor a safe fuel system and all the charcoal canister with a really quiet exhaust i would say you may be in for a little bit of a jam he drives an adm sprinter with a jdm motor conversion he has been to the epa testing station 3 times now and failed all of them he keeps on having to change things for them to be happy oh you will also need a working cat converter and no oil leaks its a shit fight also with that air box it needs to be jdm original and needs to have the ram tube it has to do with back firing so that ur engine bay will not catch on fire lol big big hassle if u need any parts me and him can help u out as we have most of these parts handy to pass epa/defect lol
