hi guys .. went shopping on the weekend with the GF .. and i saw the above mention games

    CALL OF DUTY 4

    and CRYSIS

so anyways ... after my last purchase based on the cover ; ASSIANS CREED ... and let me tell you what a boring game and waste of money that was. after 2 days of playing it .. it is now collecting dust ...

so ive downloaded the demo for Call of duty 4 ..... great game.. from start to finish of the demo ... but man this thing chews and puts your PC and graphic cards to it limits .... ive been reading review on CRYSIS and it seem good and graphics are suppose to be out ofthis world .. just wondering if any one else has played both games? which one would you reccomend. ?

i would just download a crysis demo but my home net stinks and slow as .. and work net is a big NO NO .. plus playing demo can be fun but i think it is different to palying the full game ...

If you think COD4 chews your system up... don't bother with Crysis. I loved the storyline of Crysis (I finished it the day after it was released), but I seem to be in the minority there. MP (multiplayer) Crysis is alright as well. The graphics are good, yes, but it needs a decent PC to get them. About 20 hours of gameplay, depending on how you go.

COD4 is fun, SP is good but short-ish (as rthy mentioned). MP is where it is at for COD4 (as always), but be prepared for plenty of kids playing it. I see lots of troublemaker reports on the games network I idle in.

If you don't have a really fast PC, then get COD4 for both SP and MP. If you want MP action only, and want fun that can run on a slower machine, I would suggest getting Team Fortress 2, thats a great MP game, very few troublemakers there. Just no SP part to it.

Not really - if you want to run it well, you do, but I finished the game on my then 3 year old PC. Granted, there were periods where it struggled, but, I did finish it

If you want to wait, Crysis:Warhead is coming out, which gives a parallel storyline from the original. Lower minimum PC specs too

Try playing it on a 6600GT... with an AMD64 3000+.

And I beat it within a day. Uber

    yea, my AMD64 x2 3800+ 2gig (4x 512 dual channel) DDR400 7900gt 512mb runs stalker on medium-low, COD4 medium, crysis low (back then cost over $600)
    Core2 E2180 2gig DDR800 (2x 1024 dual channel) 9600gt 512mb runs stalker on MAX, COD4 MAX, cost under $400

have now lost all faith in amd. sorry.

That has nothing to do with the CPU, all games are GPU based. Your new card is 2 generations above your old card, and trust me, 9600GT > 7900GT in every way shape and form (DX10 support, SM3.0 support, better optimisations). So the CPU update hasn't really changed much, its all video card based
