well I have been quoted $350 for a pair of cams with 9.5mm of lift and 270 degrees of duration so it sounds really steep in price, as for how the engine will run I have no idea
hey guys, been having a thought about cams for my ST, atm its pretty much stock internaly with just quads, razorback ecu, fuel pump and exhaust.
got a quote today for some Ivan tigh cams which were 920 for some made up in what ever i want
was thinkin of going with 272 and about 9mm lift
just curious as to how these will go on the motor,
i will be doin a bit of drift and a bit of hill climb.
Drift skills? i thought buying an import was all you needed? well..... im screwed

dont think so, $350 each maybe.
16v cams are always cheaper and the cheapest you can get them for is about around $400 a pair wholesale.
maybe youre right sam, if you are, id love to know where you got that quote!

I'm not sure what company it is, it's in qld, I used to get cams, valves, springs and retainers, for under $1500, and good quality too
Would probably do good to change springs as well, although 9mm lift isn't too wild.
I better check up on it, maybe I made a really dumb mistake and thought he was talking about a pair the whole time instead of a single. It was either clive or wade cams. I will make a post here when I find out (if I remember)

Camshafts... is the only thing I havn't bought yet. Will get the car running first.
My two options are:
TODA, easy to get. There is a dealer in Australia, but often cheaper if you have Japan connections.
Kelford in NewZealand.
Both have a few different grinds to choose, and both sell valve springs to suit.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Jonny Rochester @ Sep 8 2008, 11:55 AM) </div>i brought my 20v cam's from kelford i emailed them heaps of times and got lots of good feed back, i ended up choosing the "rally" style grind but on different center lines because i'm going turbo, i didnt want anything wild, the tech department knows alot and have from my understanding built and worked with 20v's alot
