Should be able to take the sender wire to frame and the gauge should get full deflection.
I'm having trouble with the fuel guage and water temp guage on a ke70. Neither of them are giving out any readings at all. I've tried connecting a wire straight from the temp sender unit to the wire on the dash plug that leads to the Temp guage but I'm still getting no reading at at.
Aswell as trying this, I've connected another of my dash unit up and I'm still getting nothing from the two gauges.. All the other lights/guages etc. are working so does anyone have an idea of whats going on or what to try next???

Why hesitate when you can accelerate???

Tryed that aswell and still nothing..

have you checker the fuses? should have a 'guage' fuse to power up the cluster guages, you speedo is mechanical so it'll still work and your probaly not running the original tacho being SR(thus only fuel and temp don't work). I'd say your missing a power supply to the cluster only cos i doubt you'd blow both temp and fuel senders at the same time.
Short the sender wires out to ground to check if the guages are working.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Benno @ Sep 5 2008, 07:00 AM) </div>Yeh I've chcked the fuses and they are all fine, this isn't actually on my sr rolla. It's on another stock one I've got here. I've earthed out the temp sender and still getting nothing on the guages at all.
Does anyone know where I can find a picture of the printed circuit board wiring on the back of the dash? I'm not sure which one is going to be the common guage power going into it? I'm thinking of just running a new power wire and seeing if that works because by the sounds of things that is what is wrong?

Yeh I know the two screws you are talking about, but should they both be having power at them?
Just connected power to two of the nuts poking out the back of the dash which connect to the fuel/temp guages and the guages are now working but instead of stoppping, they jsut slowly rise all the way and stay there..
Any ideas?
