Using a 4afe certainly is unique, good job for trying something different. Do you intend to modify that motor or was it just something to get it running?

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (A_F @ Sep 14 2008, 04:07 PM) </div>Thanks mate. it was going to be turboed, but i ran out of money. Already have the turbo and carby(su) as it will be draw thru. So now it has 4afc carby on it, with a set of extractors that i made for the time. All the internals have been replaced and tuned for the turbo, the only problem is that i locked the dizzy and now i have no vaccum advance

Cheers for feed back, i do realise i could of put in a 4age and be done with it. but i wanted something different. They are just as good as motor as a 4age just different power curve really, and much more torque down low.

Thanks Riojin for your reply, i have seen RWD before. just not in a AE86.

    Cheers Aaron

thats a really interesting conversion, and I always thought I would be the first to use a FE head in an ae86. The other rwd 4afe was that in that turbo pannel van?

in the future I might do the same to a 7afe engine in an ae71 for a daily driver

yeah mate, but it was efi. I used some of your info on your ride forum to help finish mine like the water set-up, and thermostat housing. Cheers for the info

i think the 4 afe is a over looked engine and a 7afe would be a great idea.

How do the 7a motors go like with 4age heads?

do a search for a 7age and you will find what your looking for, I have never experienced it but from what I hear they have stacks of low down power but their maximum revs happen much earlier in the rev range than a 4age so it becomes pretty pointless to rev it unless you mod it.

If you ever decide to sell that interesting dizzy setup then let us know I may be interested
