    hey,

i've recently installed a T series diff with TRD 2-way,

been driving around for a week or so, it has excessive backlash and is pretty whiney 60km/h+

but i've only just noticed a racheting crunching sound on light throttle turns and slow turns,

could this be because of the backlash.......or the LSD's fucked???

silver oil is no good! Has the sump got a magnetic oil plug?
Maybe get a diff specialist to look at how its setup. May need to have the pinion shimmed or de-shimmed etc.

if the oil is coming out metallic, i'd be looking at the crown wheel & pinion for excessive wear, or the bearings.

is the T series diff housing and axles a factory LSD model cause it has been said that the open diff axles are too long by about 5mm and need to be cut down when running a LSD.

the noise and silver shit in the oil could be the axles contacting something inside

    worth checking i think

I would seriously be going back and asking whoever installed the lsd for you whether they checked it beforehand, how much did you pay ?, if it didn`t make a noise before you had it installed they obviously fuked up so just take it back.
