Normally it will happen over a longer period.... so that may not be the problem.
Check it out anyway.
If you're still using the standard tailshaft and stuff with a higher powered motor then that may be the result of its accelerated possible failure.
But the best way to find out what the problem is would be to have a look at it on your brothers hoist
