Hi all, just wanted to know if I need any gasket goop or sealant on the paper gasket located between the gearbox and bell housing on a T-50
Cheers,
Adam

Youll need goop around the layshaft exit. All of mine have been goop though, no paper/cork gaskets.
assassin1000 & takai,
i have the factory paper gasket sitting here, so not sure where or not it requires goop?

Shouldnt need goop. Spraying it with Hylomar is a good insurance policy though. Dont want to have to pull the gearbox again for something so minor.
I have used the Toyota red sealant (for gearboxs) just to keep dust out as it doesn't have oil to seal only at the shaft
i usually put abit of goop, (threebond is what i use) on paper gaskets but only a thin smear just to take up the imperfections in the metal as ive found if the surfaces arnt 100% smooth the paper gasket wont cut it, and if you only use a little uve got zero chance of it causing trouble.

Paper gasket is cheap from toyota, I photocopied mine so next time I need one I can trace it and make one.
