Default hydraulic trolley jack repair/service on southside?

Hey guys just wondering if anyone knows of anywhere on the southside (pref Moss st/Slacks creek area) where I could take my trolley jack to be repaired?

Its an OMEGA Lift super low jack from trade tools if it makes any difference, unfortunately I lost my receipt, otherwise I would just take it back to them, since it pisses out oil every time I use it and generally sucks to use. (My fault though as I was in a rush to use it so missed the instructions saying it needed to be bled before use)

anyhow, I bought it around 2 years ago so don't think they will wanna fix/replace it for me now.

Having worked for Trade Tools in 2007->2008, they should be able to get spares / repair it for you...

    I don't see why you wouldn't ask?

    Nice jack too...

They import them and should be able to get the parts for them.

If anyone else works on it and needs a part, they will have to go to TradeTools anyway!

Went into Tradetools today and they couldn't do shit without the receipt... so places that repair jacks are what Im on a quest for now... seems a shame to have a very decent and more than useful jack sittng here going to waste.

A receipt is ONLY necessary for a warranty job !

IF you're going to pay someone else to repair it, they will need to get parts from somewhere, which will be tradetools - which means you're going to pay through the ass for it.

I'm still trying to understand what your issue is with the above ^^^

well basically they said they wouldn't know what would need to be done to fix it as OMEGA may just right it off and replace it under 'warranty' or it may be fixable.... either way they required a receipt for anything to be done about it.
Which sucks as I turn my room upside down trying to find it with no success...

Now I'm sure the jack is repairable as Ive barely gotten any use out of it since buying it so I would love to get it fixed. Surely it wouldn't cost that much...

    solution 1:

    buy identical jack brand new.
use jack for three months. happy times.
use receipt of second jack to claim warranty on first jack.
    jail.
    profit

lol, they don't have them in-store anymore.... and even then they prob would fix or replace it rather than refund, leaving me with a jack I don't need.

ever used a for sale forum???

if it's a good jack, you should be able to sell it for a good percentage of what you paid for it, then you end up with a jack that works and a little bit less cash, than having a broken jack at the moment and already forking out for it.

iirc, omega jacks are in Rowville Vic, you may be able to contact them directly and plead your case. no supplier likes to hear a case of their product leaving a sour taste in a customers mouth.

they may be able to diagnose it over the phone based on what you tell tham it is or isn't doing.

have you tried dismantling it yet?

a hydraulic cylinder has a pretty basic operating principle, so it could just be a blown o-ring.

any hydraulic specialist should be able to fix it if you can't.

    good luck.
