    Cool random stalling and sputtering 4kc fml

    Car - '83 ke70

    motor - 4k 5 speed man

    use - daily 240km on le clock

    problem - random stalling and jerks/ sputtering

    occurs/started when - when on freeway or constant speed or acceleration

    more details :

    started as just random sputtering and violent jerking most commonly on freeways around 3000 rpm but past 2 days just stalling with out warning. cant accelerate or hit red line smoothly
    i do have a tach installed ma be causing a short?? connected to negative of ignition coil
    past 2 weeks i replaced in this order :
    head gasket, dizzy and other distributor parts, um ignition coil, distributor cap, carby and finally fuel pump... but all these changes haven't solved the prob

    all these parts came out of a donor car with 180 kms and this car ran perfect..

    only last option is dirty fuel tank?? clear the lines??

    does it start back up ok? could have something to do with the tacho. on my datsun sunny, one of the terminals hanging off the ignitor was lose enough for it to slide off with ruff road. yours could bemaybe along the same lines.

    i thought that to, but i checked em there tight, when this prob first started the tach was connected just under the distributer ( same shit really) and it became loose. it helped when i replaced the loose part but.
    ill try running with the factory tacho dash just cbf changing it erghhh

    oh and it takes ages for it to start again, like 5-10 times of it stallin just as soon as i think its running agian

    Done the fuel filter? Gives a good indication of the fuel tank condition/cleanliness.

    ok well this morn it was worse than last night, so it stalled like every 200 meters .... once i got it goin i trashed the shit out of it and it was fine once i got to friends house i check fuel filter and it was half full... i changed this when i first got the car about2 years ago.. but tank musta been dirty so i got the pressure hose and i blew the fuel line out and happy days... so far
