So it's not an 86 but it's my trusty daily. An AE90 corolla hatch, 4AFC engine.
Tonight I started it and it ran for a few seconds and just stopped, cranked but won't fire.
Has no spark at all from coil.
Coil was replaced a month ago because it died, along with new leads and plugs.
I have resistance tested the coil, and everything reads within acceptable standards, so in THEORY the coil should be ok but won't provide spark.
Positive side is getting a solid 12V, but I can't get a test light to light up, using the negative terminal on the coil with the ignition turned to 'ON' I proceeded to connect a wire to the coils negative terminal to the body, still no spark at all.
Is this how the ground wire works? Why do I still have no spark? How can I test that ground wire? Or what else could the problem be?
Can an would be awesome, cheers.
