Default high flow cat worth it?

    hey guys

looking at slapping together a new exhaust, is it worth getting a "high flow" cat from flea bay?

really its going to be the first restriction so it makes sense to me

    what are your thought?

    short answer, no.

    long answer, hell NO.
steve (fkn16v) had one of those and it was fucked before he even put it in the car. the welds on it were akin to someone spitting on each edge and mashing them together.
if your going to do it, do it properly and buy something like magnaflow high flow cat. ive got one and have never had a single issue even with the 2.5" pipe i have on their now.

Lol, the fact the brand name is quoted as BOKKA and LOBOKA in the same ad is bad enough, but then they mention the cat contains "platinum, rodium & plutonium"

    Plutonium? Great Scott!

I'm sure that in 1985 plutonium is available in every corner drugstore, but in 1955 it's a little hard to come by!

Yes stay away from the cheap nasty eBay shit, that all it is SHIT!

Stick with known brands and you will be right.

    MagnaFlow comes to mind.

or wreckers, find one right pipe size, smash out insides, install into exhaust? win? or do you need to pass emission tests or something?
