Default Fuel Line sizing and running it through the cab......dodgy???

Fuel system is my final hurdle.

my setup consists of a fuel cell in the boot, with an external pump being fed from the bottom of the fuel cell.

My questions are, im considering running 8mm EFI hose for all the parts that need hose, will this suit or should I up it to 10mm hose. (Apart from feed to fuel pump).

Second question, runnning braided fuel hose in the cab a dodgy idea? Am i better off just using the factory pipe under the car for fuel feed?

Ill be pushing 200kw max from the engine when its all done and dusted.

ps. How do i work out what size 'AN' fittings I need, ive never been good with that stuff........

    Ok.

    1. The aeromotive fpr I bought recommends a 3/8" returno line for 1-180 gallons per hour. I would match the feed to be the same size.

    2. What do you consider "braided fuel hose". 100 series and 400 series speedflow hoses are both capable of taking fuel but there's a note saying that fuel vapor may permeate through the hose. 200 series (teflon) will take on any fuel and won't breathe. So to answer your question, 200 series through the cabin is fine.

    3. -6AN is 6/16" = 3/8" tube OD/hose ID, -3 is 3/16" tube OD/hose ID.

So, if you're going to use 10mm~3/8"=6/16=-6AN.

Im going to run dual 10mm lines under the car for feed and return i think

you pretty much took the most complicated route with explaining that one.

i'd run 3/8 hard line through the car to bulkheads in the firewall then 200 series hose from the bulkhead to motor/return. 200 series ends MUST be used with 200 series hose. using 100 series ends causes leaks at high pressure from the teflon slipping off the nose.

im not a big fan of braided line through the cabin because soft line is harder to mount, prone to cutting or perforation and takes up alot of space. hard line is easily routed and HALF the cost of 200 series hose and twice as safe. having the bulkhead on the firewall is an added safety bonus. steel, alloy, whatever. 25 feet is ~$80 for hard line. 200 series teflon lined hose is $84 PER METER.
