    Default TODA 4age pistons

hey guys . had nothing to do today so i thought i would crack open a spare 4age i had lying around. Original motor came from my sisters Trueno from Japan. shortly after owning it for half a year it spun a bottom end bearing and since then the motor has been sitting in my garage waiting for a rebuild . the trueno from japan had an old school HKS air flow controller & Toda ECU .

when we cracked open the timing belt cover we also found a pair of adjustable toda adjustable cam gears and toda cams. So i figured it would be worth holding onto this motor in case it had some more goodies.

so I spent a couple of hours following the manual and took the engine apart ( my first time) , i will be using the motor as a learning exercise.

As i suspected the bottom end had a nice set of Toda Pistons. Only Problem is piston 1 has a dent . My question. after a clean up , will this be re-useable ? what do you guys think would cause this sort of damage ? piston 1 .

    Nice find...

If it's not an all out motor, just dress the high spots & crack test it.
If that's all good, clean 'em up as they should be fine to go again.
(Looks like FOD from a screw thread or something)
How's the Ex quench pad on the head #1 ?

I can get you a single piston if need be + rings, clips & pins are also available as sets or individual items.

Toda man here has a good point, buying a single piston will probably be cheaper than dressing this one up and getting it cleaned and crack tested

    thanks guys.

i'll have to call around and get some prices and go from there .

ps. yep i found the little bugger that did it stuck on the head. pictures to come . this may of been the reason for the knock. and not the bottom end bearing as first suspected.
