Default re: issue with lining up new caster rods

hey guys im just in the middle of replacing bent caster rods, got given to me another pair of 'ae86' ones but seem to be way out of line from what i originally had, the parts that aren't lining up are the bolts to the LCA which seem wack compared to the old ones, mind you they are XT130 lca's so if there is a difference can you let me know, or if you know what pair is from what type of caster rods are the ones that are bent so i can get another pair that fit.

bottom one is the new lca which ive been told came from an ae86 but seems to have different bolt positions?
and top one is my old bent one

are you installing them at that length? Mine are a fair bit longer than that. I install them on the body end then just yank them into line at the lca

edit just noticed the welded up ends and that shit ain't right!! i use the standard ae71 rods in my ae71 with ae86 coilovers and xt130 lcas. Mine look identical to your bent ones and definitely nothing like those welded up ends!

really ? maybe the old ones came out easy due to being bent but to me it looked like the part that goes into the lca is a whole different angle where the line up with the bolts

like if you look at the second picture the hook is curved more on the darker one

why can't you straighten the old ones?

all they do is hold the lca forward

the darker ones have been cut and rewelded. you can see the beads of weld. some one has cut up a standard arm and rewelded it on a sharper angle.
The point being that they won't fit unless possibly maybe there is a chance of it fitting it you run it with some fairly extreme castor. I would bolt it to the control arm then bolt it to the body. other than that straighten your standard ones up or get some unmolested standard ones

I put a pair of AE71 caster rods in the scrap drum on the ute that I'm turfing tomorrow. Do you want me to save them? I'm located Heidelberg area. They're straight and unmodified, just surface is rusty. Will come up ok with a clean-up & paint.
