Default Stripping interior.- how much is legal?

    Hey all,
As it says, how much of your interior is `removable` before the boys in blue start getting excited? I`m planning on gutting everything out of my 86 to the degree that it looks like a race car (essential gauges ,roll cage and front race seats only) but nowhere in the Queensland transport website can i find a straight answer(surprise surprise).

    any ideas?

you start pulling anything out and youll get attention.

basically carpet and sound deadener is all you can take out without having to get a mod plate. if you get it mod plated for 2 seater. then everything can come out from the front seats back.

you need front door trims, but a few guys dont run any and get away with it.

you could take out that other centre console stuff like where the radio is and the handbrake cover and all that gear.

technically anything you change on a car from standard specification can upset them... if your car "looks like a race car" it will get attention.

I once heard, no metal (including painted metal) should be exposed in the cabin.

The dash has to be retained, as it is probably foam and safety device.

The heater is needed for the window demister.

Spare tyre in good condition also required.

agreed.... floody is corect as he is most of the time.

and yes, any exposed metal or non standard additions to the cabin come under "dangerous objects in the crash zone"... i know this for a fact.
