    Default Throttle Position Sensor Problems

hey guys, I attempted to have a look at my throttle position sensor yesterday.
I took the plug off and connected the multi-meter to the IDL and E2 terminals. It came up with no reading what-so-ever...
I didn't move the TPS at all, as I didn't want to mess with it seeing as I don't know much about it.
But I'm guessing it should've at least had some sort of ohm reading?
While connected I opened and closed the throttle, but still it had no reading.
I followed instructions from the 4age diagnostics manual and a website i found as well.
So I'm either thinking it could be that the TPS is broken, hence why I can't seem to get my timing right at all, or I'm not inspecting it right?
Does anyone have any ideas? Cheers.

Ps. The engine is a 16v Bigport
