AE86 roof replacement (non-sunroof)

Hey guys,

Just bought an AE86 project and found that somewhere in the past some knucklehead has fitted a universal sunroof (badly).
I want to fix the roof and to do this the best way is to replace the whole thing.

My technical question: Does anyone know if any other model (even makes) of cars have a similar roof line that i'd be able to chop off and graft onto the 86?

Otherwise, does anyone know where I might be able to find a replacement roof?

Do you intend to maintain full road registration? If it is to be a club registered or race only vehicle with a roll cage, a fibreglass or carbon roof skin is a possibility.

Good luck. You're gonna have to find somebody wrecking an AE86 and willing to chop it up.

Turret panel is listed on diy as a $550 part. could be worth looking into. guranteed quality and a lot less spotweld drilling

Yes, the car will be road rego'd. For now I'm just welding in a panel but If I can find a full turret that would be great. Thanks guys!

CHAMPIONS!!! Thankyou sooo much. That's just confirmed that both 3dr and 2dr models use the same turret.

the guy who I spoke to also has a sunroof model so no go.

I didn't realise that the roof skin would be so cheap new, the freight cost must be high though.

I have a accident damaged 3dr sitting here in Vic with just the driveline minus the gearbox left to sell. The turret is fine and it's non-sunroof. Would cost a bit to get to WA though.
