thanks for the feedback, everything is leading towards a stock lsd or trd, cusco RS sounds nice but is overkill for what i use my car for. stock one sounds like it'll suit my driving style, i guess like everything car wise you get used to it.
I have a Cusco 1.5way in my 86 which is built for track work, It isn't noisey at all infact very quiet. The diff works really well and is nice to drive if your just cruising around etc, on the track driving very aggressive it works well also been very progressive in the way it locks up. I can see why on the road you could get yourself in a whole lot of trouble if your driving skills aren't the best though.
The 2way Cusco I had in my turbo 86 was quiet but very aggressive and worked well for the power but on the road was just painful to drive.
A mate had a 2way Kazz in his and this was very noisey, clunking and banging, he landed up removing it as he didn't like it.
My choice as a well balanced diff for some track work and on the road would be the 1.5way Cusco, personal choice but this is the pick of the bunch for me.

isn't touge some kind of mountain high speed pass in Japan?

touge is "ridge, (mountain) pass, difficult part" in Japanese.
ah I see, are they not normally used for speed runs and not drift though or am I mistaken? what does it really mean "touge use"?

Togue use means very spirited hills runs, generally pushing your car as hard as you can
It just means mountain road. but they're normally windy because you gotta make up some vertical distance for every measure of horizontal distance or it was easier to make the road go that way instead of levelling out the ground here to make the road straight. but basically because they're windy, it makes them fun to drive on and you can do whatever you feel like whether it's grip driving (hate that term) or drift.
In what terms do you mean "touge use", you mean like this part is for touge use and this one for racing use or something? Or you mean the context the topic starter used it in?
what I am trying to figure out is what the original poster really wants to use his car for so as to give a proper answer. I answed specificly because people here are talking about drift and drift diffs when I thought touge was grip.
If it's grip I suggest an uprated factory diff or a diff that can be run 1-way

touge can be both grip and drift, sam i live up in the hills and drive pretty hard everyday, my main driving style is grip coming from a mini background but im starting to push my 86 to a point where breaking into a drift is becoming more regular, to my understanding having a lsd will allow me to control more when breaking into a slide and thats why im after one. i agree with you that a factory lsd would be my best bet as i want it to be as mild as possible.
check out that youtube video, most video's dont give a good sense of speed but i think this one shows what touge is about, other good ones are touge showdowns with keiichi tsuchiya
