How much did you pay for your ke70?

Hi guys,

I'm new here, just wanted to know, I picked up a ke70 auto from sydney today for $700
Pretty unhappy because I didn't twig but the guy selling it said it was an ae71, but it's only
a ke70. The condition is about 5/10, both back tyres are stuffed, radiator is stuffed.
Exhaust held up by pieces of wire, oh and the exhaust system has holes all through it and will need to be replaced.
Engine runs really well for a 4k though, Chassis rails are straight, car is generally pretty straight.

did I get ripped off?

Doesn't sound like a bad deal....If you can be stuffed looking around and knocking on peoples doors you can find them cheaper. I did that and bought mine for $180. Probably another $800-900 saw 12 months rego on it

I paid 2k for my T18 (kind of like a ke70 but slightly more sort after?) Had rust fixed fresh paint and 8 months rego...

I paid 800 for my 5spd ke70 with no rego... Most registered cars are worth about 1k

Tyres plus an exhaust bracket are nothing, if the car is relatively rust free you got a good buy

Shoot me a pm of you need a radiator asking $50 for my ke one. I also have a stock exhaust you can have as well

that was the one off ebay yeah? i saw that and sent the guy a message saying it was a ke70 as i thought no ae71 has a 4k fitted from factory, $700 isnt too bad, start sourcing your manual conversion parts

700 is ok, there is no mean price for these things, I've seen guys asking 2k for a Stocka.
I brought a 70 for 500 no rego

I'm guessing it's a shanty 70? Which is why you thought it was a 71?

If you going to do an engine conversion who cares.
Get your x members, pedal box and away you go.

Mat - thanks for the offer for a radiator ill probably take you up on that, need the two radiator suppor mounts on either side that attach to the chassis aswell if anyone has spares, otherwise I'll have to cruise to a wrecker.
sundee86 - yah im planning on just getting it to stock mintish condition on the outside and in, and then going the conversion gear with a 4ac to save money for now, then consider the ge in the future, coz I'll probably want a 20valve

i paid 700 bucks for an auto ae71 with 12 months rego and 115000 kays...

the bodys not the straightest, paints pretty shit on the roof/bonnet/boot.. having said that, its never had a single problem..

its got rust in the roof which is shit though..

But considering the parts that go into these cars most of the time (motor, suspension, brakes etc) most of what you are paying for initially is thrown out/removed anyways..
