I finally got a timing light on the car.
The mark was so far around im not even sure what it was running.
I reckon timbo is right 30+
But now ive changed my ignition steup.
Im running a front mount dizzy setup made by Sam q.
Now ive got the timing back on 10degrees.
Im thinking about winding it up to twelve and see how it goes.
I little more advance won't hurt but as everyone says; Mr Toyota probably did a lot of research before they decided with 10BTDC. I have wound in more advance when using an octane booster, to a point where there were noticeable gains. Try and find a point where the motor will still idle at a reasonable rpm and feels a tad more responsive.
