    Default Ae86 seat options

Ive got a adm ae86 and would like to upgrade my seats. I drive the car everyday and can drive up to 300kms in one stint. So i would prefer to not use a fixed bucket seat and have something that is nice and comfy but has to hold me in my seat. Im just under 6 foot. The oem seats in my 98 sti would be ideal but they wont bolt into my ae86.

Ive read that people use the jdm ae86 seats and aw11 mr2 seats, which i presume that they would both be hard to find in good condition and at a resonable price.
Bride seats are nice but a bit too expensive.
Keen to know what people use and what they think.

people seem to rip Recaros out of Evo's and Hondas, you could try that direction, although your still at around 900-1200 + rails.

Prelude seats are a good option. MA61 seats are one of my fave. Almost bolt in too. just have to move 1 of the mounts, finding them in good condition can be a struggle though. A second hand Bride Brix is a good option, very comfortable and reclinable If you need help sourcing one i can point you in the right direction

SW20 MR2 seats are nearly straight bolt in also, just have to enlarge one of the mr2 rails bolt holes. Comfy and hold you in nicely for a standard seat.

Factory JDM Kouki Apex seat is very comfortable for long distance and quite adj(air bag lumbar, height/tilt base, side) The foam is also nicely padded and firm enough to support for many km's, so you should be able to get the right combo for for height.

I have MR2's in mine (not sure what model), they are cumfy as i drive mine daily. Also have driven from Melb to Syd and no saw back, i'm 6'4 and fit nice, but little too close with a helmet on (have sunroof too). The mounts don't appear to have been modified in any way and they look factory, so less hassle if you get pulled over.
