have you checked that the motor is earthed correctly? I had a similar problem and it ending up being that my earth to the motor and ECU were fried
Hey Guys
I know I am missing something simple, but you know how it is when you have spent 10hours chasing your tail, an outside perspective it always welcome
The car is running a carby - electronic dissy via computer set up, not my work but it is what was in the car when I got it.
The situation, when cranking the spark is erratic, I cant find a common trigger as to what makes it spark or not, very hit and miss and not regular at all.
I have changed the coil with no change, I have by-passed the ignition switch to ensure that it was not a case of no power on cranking, power to the coil appears consistent, as seen in the clip, it wants to start but the spark comes and goes with out reason.
Any input appreciated.
Cheers
Jon

Rust is a way of life
Yes the engine has 2 earth wires, and I also ran a jumper lead as well, but it does seem that earthing might be a contributing factor
