AE86 In a Straight Line

Yea 4ages as a general rule, dont beat a whole lot in a straight line. i got destroyed at the lights by a camry a few months ago in my smallport ae86, depressing.

just race other 4cyls and 6cyl cars from the 80s, it improves your odds alot

I got well and truly destroyed by a volkswagen touraeg v10 TDI in my bigport ae86. Not that I expected anything better, they have about 800nm of torque...

Other things I've been beaten by:

Opel calibra 20v
Commodore
rb20det cefiro destroyed me
etc etc.

Basically the 4age in a straight line against modern cars doesn't hold it's ground. My old mazda 3 would whoop most 4age's in a straight line.

when my 86 was og with 4ac i once got beaten by a old freighliner prime mover hehe that was funny.

now my car is prety shit off the mark unless i press the antilag button.

im only running an emanage with a tune off another ae86 that ive richened up a tad my self. commodores "generally"(i use that term loosely, most dick heads that try to drag have at most an exhaust and intake) arent that quick plain an simple, also 99.9% of them are clapped out and fucked in one way or another. ive done it my self smashing v6 commos, kept up with a 5.0L. vn ss's have a better power to weight ratio than a VT series 2 ffs, ive been in another mates sprinter with 4age and 4.3 ratio diff and has pulled away from god knows how many stockish 5.0L's. so im of the opinion its easily doable if your a good driver

unless a dedicated drag machine ae86's are better on twisties and dirt...thats were the fun is! if you want to suprise ss and skylines get a cressida to do up.
