    Manuals are here:

I have generally found most places you cant actually get the manifold gaskets from places other than Toyota. They're about $15 each from memory.

I would strongly advise against using the wire wheel on anything which has to seal airtight. Air may leak through the tiny scratches it makes. Don't use anything which may scratch.

The Toyota manuals are infinitely better than any crappy Haynes or Gregory's manual. Get yourself a good torque wrench too, it'll come in useful with the Toyota manual.

Looking good! Happy to see its gone to a better home and being built for drift. Its cool seeing it with a half cage and receiving a 4age transplant! It was one of my few 86 that never received such attention. Top stuff, hopefully i'll see it at the track one day.

Good on you for getting your hand dirty. You will learn a lot doing this yourself.
    Just be patient.
I would recomend swapping nearly everything from the Trueno into the Levin(sprinter).
Engine and gearbox, wiring, fuel tank and lines.
    Two reasons:
1, you mentioned that you were struggling to put togeather a car you didn't pull apart.
So by pulling the trueno apart you will learn where everything goes. They are the same.
2, you have to change to EFI fuel setup anyway, and you know its all gonna work.

    Have fun.

DRFTAE86 - Hey Ron how are you mate? I've sent you some mail and you should get it sometime next week. Sorry, its not easter eggs, but its more along the lines of transfer of registration. Yeah I hope that this car sees atleast 1 trackday this year....

Dom86 - Yeah I've learnt alot so far and I hope that I gain more mechanical knowledge. If Im stuck I just ask guys that I work with and hopefully with their info I can get shizz done but if not I try to use google.

Im glad that you brang up the EFI fuel setup swap as this is where I literally run away and hide.

Could you please elaborate on what to do and what i should be using for the swap please? Anyone?

    Cheers
    Luke

yair owning a sprinter is a disease, you buy one and soon end up with enough parts for 2 or even 3!

Well todays objective was to take the t series from the trueno and clean that up ready for the swap with the sprinter but I got carried away.

I started to take out the rear interior in the sprinter and then I had a brainwave... 'why not take the engine out'

So yeah I pretty much got straight into it and just redid everything I went through from when I did the trueno and I mowed through it pretty quickly. I started about 1 then I was ready to pry it out by about 5. Took abit longer then expected due to not having access to a lowdown car jack but I pulled through with the goods.

So from here i thinks its onto the diff/disc conversion and then work out the fuel systems and I should be on the home straight.

    Well onto pics,

And this is where Im at...

Awesome work man, remind me of the first build I ever did and learning how to do it all just by having a go at it.

If you're anything like me, you'll get bitten by the bug and forever keep pulling out engines from cars and putting others in.

Keep it up, this car is going to turn out sweet.

Well not too much to update besides these shots from the last couple half-days effort. I took out the carby fuel systems and brake lines ready to take out the rear end to be swapped with the 2way and disk brakes all round.

Can I just say I cant get enough of this wire wheel lol.

My intentions are to scrub away the silver and maybe give it a quick spray of white so that I can find possible leaks and what not when the new engines in. Im going to drop into Supercheap shortly to pick up some paint thinners/strippers, gloves, masks and other random things.

Im in need of some bigger ring and open enders as I cant undo the handbrake cables with my pesky 17'' *sigh* The booster is proving to be difficult but I'll get there eventually cbf taking out the dash right now.

I've got a question also, If I take off the booster is there any gaskets that need to be replaced at all?

    Thanks anyways guys.
    Luke
