Default what bushes are you using? personal experience thread

    Car -AE86

    Hi everyone,

I just wanted to know what bushes everyone is using and their experiences with them. I think its about time i replaced all the bushes in my 86 but now tossing up between

    - Prothane (from T3)
    - SuperPro

My 86 is more or less a weekend car but would be nice to have the setup FIRM.. not too sloppy or rock solid that'd break my arse on a speedhump

any personal experience of both these brands or others would be greatly appreciated.

    Terry

I've had nolethane in a car and I didn't overly like them.

Superpro / Whiteline are my choice which stiffens up the car, but doesn't give you a busted arse. I'm needing to do mine soon as well, which ultimately will come down to price which way i go.

Ive also used, installed superpro bushes and they have been great.

One good thing i found about nolathane when i was working for holden is that they include adjusting plates in their castor rod bushes for commodores, which allows you to adjust castor, which you cannot do with OEM bushes. Just something small, but some thought went into it.
Having said that, id still go superpro

Mine was completely rebushed with nolathane branded ones. They were quite good, though I didnt expect much comfort from them.

Id probably go with superpro as theyre generally cheaper, and can be bought through places like AJPS etc..

Haha, I think I have a few brands in the car ATM...

Superpro - front ARB links, steering rack - Steering rack feels good but I do have a T3 manual.power steering derlin bush which is solid.

Nolathane - rear shock tops - fine, not sure if you would ever notice them...

Whiteline - trailing arms, panhard - fucking hard! very little play, whole rear end feels awesome with plenty of grip

and some repco 4WD brand orange ones - front ARB D's and rear shock bottoms - cheap and really really good. front ARB felt so much better with them installed, same with the back. good fit too, not over or undersized.

for suspension arms etc when it doubt, rose joint all out

my car had the "harder" stuff then stock, dont know what they were as it came with the car, i've replaced it with all rose joint suspension, its great for everything

what i noticed most is that the rear end is able to move up and down freely with rose joints, which allows the shock to actually absorb shocks from the road and resulted in a better smoother and comfy ride for me anyways

The best mod Ever for the price u will notice a big difference, when i had 25 year old OEM bushes i actually thought somthing was broken like one of the links that holds the diff in place because when i would swerve it felt like it took 2 seconds for the rear to react with the direction the frots were pointing anyways A full proathane kit from the states is around $150 delivered super pro is alot more expensive but a slightly harder compound which is better but not worth it u will never feel the difference only slightly harder ride Dont get any other brands
