I could easily sort out the tacho n that for you if you want? Shouldn't take more than an hour
Hi all,
I bought this in October 2012 as i was still a fair way from having my full license and needed an N/A daily while i was working on my rx7 and just cant buy a normal car like a normal smart person would. Plus i have always wanted to have a JDM 86 and a coupe just topped it off for me!
When i bought the car it had a 16v in it with an adaptronic e420c ecu and itb's. It was extremely slow and terrible to drive. I drove the car around for around a month and couldnt take it anymore and found a nice Blacktop 20v Kit for sale which included Haltech Sprint 500 ecu and full loom for AE86 (even came out of a Kouki Levin Coupe). So i did the swap in a weekend (really straight forward) and its now as an ae86 should be! It's obviously not really a fast car but it is alot of fun and certainly enough to get you into trouble.
Pros: -
-The body of the car is in my opinion really good condition. This is my 3rd AE86 and by far the best i've owned.
-The engine i have no doubts in, idles fine, cruises fine, pulls hard, never given me troubles (i.e not starting, break downs etc)
-The car drives really nice and smooth
-Interior is in great condition
-Very minimal rust
-Air conditioning will be included with the car although not currently installed (have all bits you need the car originally had A/C previous owner removed and gave to me)
Cons: -
-Previous owner said the diff has been rebuilt although i doubt this as its abit noisy.
-Tacho,temp and oil pres gauges not working from 20v swap + haltech
-One crack in dash
-Missing interior that goes around shifter boot
-No heater from 20v swap also
Specs: -

So i took the car out drifting last wednesday night on south circuit and i may keep the car at this stage but also might not, if you come look at the car and are happy id probably sell.
Video from the night:
Car ran faultlessly drove there skidded and drove home, the lights coming up on the dash was due to the nut on the alternator earth/plug thing vibrating loose, tightened back up and now no more lights come on while driving : )
some body please buy this, such a good example of a JDM 86
