trd front shocks

hi all,
Ive ordered some trd blue rear shocks and 5.5kg springs for my 86,
I want to get the trd fronts,
Does anyone know how much of my struts i have to cut for the short strokes? im under the impression that 40mm and then use 40mm RCa with 8kg springs is a descent set up

are you using coilovers or just lowered springs?

i want to convert to coilovers thats why i want to know how much to cut off

Why not buy the dampers so you can measure them up and then cut the struts to suit? Take all the guesswork out of it.
