You also need to take into account the spring preload when you are taking these measurements.
You will only get the 40mm compression of the strut under 300kg of weight on it if you have 0 preload (ie if the spring is only just snug in the strut)
If you want to adjust it any lower than that you will have the spring non-captive when it is unloaded, there is some chance it could slip off its seat.
but if your measurements of the open length of the strut are good then your sums seem fine (assuming the 0 preload part).
If you preload it at all then the car would sit a bit higher than the 30mm reduction you are aiming for.
