use an old pad and a g-clamp and push the brake piston back... if that is what you're talkin bout...
I've just finished replacing my rotors. and put on the bit that holds in the pads (has 2 bolts). but the cylinder won't even fit over the disc now.
the part with the two teeth that holds the outer pads in hits the rim of the disc now. how do I adjust it so there is room for the outer brake pads?

the cylinder is still in the upward position though (see attatchment). maybe its just me but it seems like those front teeth hit the disc brake way before the piston comes into contact with anything.
I tried the G clamp over the piston anyway and it still didn't work. What do you mean by old pad?
you haven't bolted the caliper to the wrong side of it's mounting bracket have you? If thats possible.

Hint. The brake type is single piston sliding caliper.
