Hey lads,
Wasn't too sure on where to put this thread. I have just done a 4AGE 16v conversion to my KE. The last 2 things that are on my list are 2 vacuum leaks coming from the TVIS Solenoid and Idle Control Valve. Anyone have any trouble with these in the past? Worth fixing? Can be fixed? If not, anyone know where the best place to get these parts from would be awesome!

Cheer mate, will try that.
Just check and make sure you have coolant flowing to the cold start idle up under the throttle body (these can get blocked up over time). Good thing to do is take it off and clean out all the gunk in the air ports if you haven't already done so using some throttle body cleaner then spray wd40 in there to make the valve move smoothly as the temperature increases.

Early 3SGE engines also used TVIS. I replaced my broken 4AGE TVIS solenoid with a 3SGE one not too long ago.
Also with the idle-up/cold start thing, I ditched it like most people do and just replaced it with a blanking plate and a gasket like this:
I think i'm the only one that still runs one.... even on my 4agte
I guess other people like their idle above 1k or like trying to keep their foot on the gas when cold![]()
