I have come to the realisation that I have too many projects, too little time, and too little motivation to get them all done. So its time to clear out some of the fleet.
First to go is the AE82 Corolla which was going to be my club racer, to take on the rest of the ae82 lads racing with TCCAV.
Details - 1986 Corolla. Started life as a stock white AE82 twin cam.
At some point someone got very serious and resprayed it blue, had a silvertop 20 valve fitted, and spent some money on the stereo system and interior - custom carbon fibre parts have been installed.
Suspension has pedders lowered springs, and allegedly nolathane bushes, but I couldn't see much evidence of them when I had a look recently.
Interior is neat and tidy.
Exterior has one spot of rust in the standard AE82 spot of the rear wheel arch, and there is a spot in the trailing edge of the roof. Front bar has had a whack. Still looks great all cleaned up.
Tyres are good.
Brakes and clutch need adjusting but it does drive OK. Rotors are drilled and slotted.
I bought the car with an engine knock at high revs, which I had hoped was the VVTi pulley, but more investigation suggests its more like a bearing.
I was going to pull the engine out and rebuild it, then I came across a reasonably priced silvertop that I was going to sling in the engine bay instead. But I have done neither of these things yet. It drives well despite the knock!
A serious weekend or two of hard work and this would be back on the road and ready to do life as a daily driver, a club racer, or what ever else you might think of.
Price is $1000 no offers.
The good condition spare silvertop 4age engine can be had for extra $$. I paid $925 in total for the bare engine (no manifolds or accessories) from Corolla Spares in Sydney a few weeks back, so that is what I want for it. The engine came out of an auto Levin with 135,000km on the clock.
OZ wheels in one of the pictures are not for sale.
Email me or phone 0413 001 666 for more details. Car is in Eltham North, has no rego, no RWC.
Front shot - can see the front bar needs replacing
Factory standard rust, and broken rear bar mount
Steering wheel needs some love.. you can seen the carbon fibre instrument pod top and maybe the centre console here too
Interior shot
Battery install - battery box is screwed to the boot floor cover, which is completely loose in the boot. That needs attention.
Still has its books
