I heard that the earliest KE70 racks had more lock.
So.. Look for a 1979 KE70 rack and check if theres any truth to that?![]()
Hey there guys,
Im looking to achieve more lock out of my Ke70, so far Ive done the following steering modifications..
T3 - Front Lower Control Arms.
T3 - Tension Control arms.
T3 - Outer Tie rods.
T3 - Ae86 Power Steering arms.
But im still looking to gain more, so i'm wandering what possible steering rack swaps are out there with the use of the stock ke70 engine crossmember?
Any and all help is greatly appreciated, thanks!!

no lock spacer? that's the easiest mod of the lot

Get rid of the t3 stuff and buy better gear and you'll have more lock than you can handle...otherwise ae86 rack has an extra 1 or 2 teeth...
Tore - a lot of parts used in overseas models are unlikely to be the same in Australia...I could most likely be wrong but I dnt know Australia even received a 1979 model

you should be fine with all that plus a lock spacer, if that's not enough to stop you spinning maybe learn to drive
t3 steering arms arnt anything flash. Get onto JDI fabrication in melbourne, they make some great steering arms, combined with a lock spacer and a jdm 86 rack ,you will be bullshit close on touching your inner guard/strut towers. if you have a fair bit of track you can avoid touching the inner guard but thats a fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck load of lock
Delazy, like most parts you gotta get them from outside the country anyway.
Luckily a steering rack doesnt weigh a shitload
Lol.. lots of "shit" in this thread xD

^^^ ke70 owners are mostly tight arses and highly unlikely they'd go the effort to find one...
the fact this bloke has been a sheep following the crowd with T3 gear suggests this to me...

^word up. t3 is junk.
T3 knuckles were created solely so that Gabe didn't have to continually source oem ps knuckles to go with his "outer tie rod" kits... They are nothing more than a copy of ps knuckles with a 'randomly' positioned shorter hole (something I'm sure a few people will argue)...
I've been around long enough to have seen numerous "wtb - ps knuckle" threads across numerous forums posted by Gabe back in the day...
Get some JDI knuckles...plan and simple...Chris at shock works can hook you up
