Wow as if this got defected, the exact reason why you always gotta be on the look out for the police and just bounce when you see them.
I think this car would be perfect with side mouldings
I kinda like the colour coded GT-APEX spoiler but understand why you may paint it black (would work nice with panda bumpers)
When I got my black/grey coupe the spoiler had been colour coded by its jap owner but it snapped in half when my mate helped me push it after it was hot wired by a potential thief.
Now I have an unpainted spoiler on there it just looks wrong...

Haha yeah man, I usually do but there was no escaping this one...

Hopefully the defect will be cleared early next week. Then I can get back to enjoying it rather than fixing miniscule crap. TBH the colour coded wing is starting to grow on me, as are the wheels so it may end up staying very similar to this. The diff is going in for a rebuild after the defect is cleared to get rid of the epic backlash issues it currently has, it'll be a completely different car with a tight diff in it.

I've started hunting for an engine to build for it, going to stick with the 16 valve (Purely because it's era specific and I'm not chasing ridiculous figures).

I'm thinking along the lines of the following,
    - 7 Rib Block (With Oil Squirters)
    - Silvertop Rods
    - High Comp Pistons (10.5 - 11:1 ish)
    - Rebuild head (3 Angle Valve Grind and some basic flow work)
    - 288ish degree 9mm ish cams with aftermarket springs and retainers
    - Complete ARP Fastener Set (Head Bolts, Mains, Big Ends and Flywheel)
    - Silvertop 20v Quads and Velocity Stacks
    - New water pump, Oil Pump etc
    - Remote Oil Filter and thermostated Oil Cooler
    * It'll be running off an SAFC2 for the time being (Almost considering a 40mm Webber setup)

I'm hoping to reach the 140 - 160hp mark with the main aim being absolute reliability and longevity haha. I'm not too concerned about stupidly high horsepower figures, I'd rather a car that I can drive to the track, enjoy and know that I'll be driving it home. I bought this thing to drive it not to fix it haha

There will also be a lot of cleaning up happening as there are several little things that are niggling at me, interior re-trim and colour matching, fuel system (happening next weekend) and general suspension and underbody tidy up. It's a super clean car but it could be a hell of a lot cleaner in my opinion.

    Fun times ahead!

So yeah I did a bit of work on this thing over the weekend, fixed exhaust and vacuum leaks and got everything sorted to get it over the pits... Yay.

During my tinkering I was contemplating a few bits and pieces that I would like to change appearance wise. I'd like to paint the rear wing a Black or really dark Grey, along with door trims and wheels.. It already has the wheels off it to get it over the pits so I figured I'd just paint them while they're off...

    Anyways,

    Compared to

    Thoughts, opinion abuse?

Haha I'm considering the T&T on Saturday, I should be getting an oil cooler in the mail this week at some stage (Hopefully) and I promised myself I wouldn't thrash the poor creature on the track for several hours again until I had it installed. If it turns up I will be installing it Friday night for track Saturday. If it doesn't turn up I might come up for a cruise!

PS - Canary finally got killed today so I can re-fit my apparently extremely dangerous wheels (That add a deadly 15mm of front track) and go back to driving a respectable Sprinter again. I'll be resuming life as an automotive criminal, motorcyclist killing, child scaring, native animal splattering modified vehicle driver with my wide wheels and rattly rear seat...

PPS - considering Barbagello T&T this weekend. Yew.

PPPS - Those in the know with AE suspension setups, what is a good base setup for grip racing? Currently running some fairly aggressive Caster, a bit of positive Tow on the front and about -1 degree Front Camber... Note. These settings are a complete guestimate without taking any measurements what so ever haha

What sort of tyres are you running? I align my car to 2.5 degrees negative camber, 4 degrees positive castor and 1mm total toe in and I find it works pretty well.

At the moment it has Continental Conti Premium Contact 2's on it. They seem to perform reasonably well but will getting replaced with KU36's when they're dead...

Thanks for the setup basics man! I'll get a wheel alignment done and set it up there for a base and tinker from there... What about rear suspension setup?
