has your motor got trumpets already ,and is it in the ke70 rolla .as you will need to know how much romm from end of quads to the strut tower and how close are the clutch master is as well
I've done some research, but seem to get conflicting answer.
I have an ae111 with the stock blacktop (and stock everything really), but am looking at some cam options. I want to know if I can run some trumpets. I know the for and against argument, but I am unsure if I can just rip the air box off, and stick some 130mm trumpets straight onto it?
A little help guys?

fwd
airbox off, stock trumpets??
yes you can rip the airbox off and run some trumpets with stock ecu.
for cams, if youre still going to run a stock ecu, buy some tomei poncams. they bolt in and happily use standard cam gears including the vvt gear. remember to adjust the timing appropriately by adjusting the dizzy.
remove the plenum and bolt them straight to the quads. I was running 110mm trumpets on my blacktop in my ae111. I'm now running 30mm Imec trumpets inside the plenum. Less response but much more torque throughout the rev range![]()
tomei poncams only come in 264 I believe.
The 50mm stacks I offer will fit inside the original airbox and will make more power than the IMEC's. If you want something different then I can offer 100mm stacks with a Pipercross adapter plate, that works well.
Changing the cams with the OEM ECU will net limited gains
