Ive only ever snapped one axle, and the centre thats in there has been in for about 3-4 years now... I recently replaced the housing.
I love borgys, they are a pain to change centres and things, but axles are so cheap (i literally have about four pairs in my shed and havent paid for any lol). And that said they rarely snap.
As for fuel systems, mine doesnt get much surge untill below a quater. It used to get almost none at all with my na motor, but with the ze it gets a bit more.
Rubber lines were done back in the day, not as many people were doing 4a conversions (including in 86's lol) and the general idea was that you kinda needed bigger lines.
Since then i think people have found other wise.
Its funny too i had a lot of people tell me my lines will get cut, or burst or some weird shit... 5 years on, still good lol.
