Default Wade 872a Camshafts. Bigport 16valve running MAP.

Hi all, I have done some searches re running the wade 872a Camshafts ( 267 Degree Actual duration) in a JDM spec Bigport 16 valve with TVIS running a MAP sensor but cannot confirm if The wade 872a will run properly with the Std MAP Ecu. Do the 872a's have enough Vac to operate the TVIS system? I have found various posts with good results running these cams in Small ports and a AFM Ecu.

Most agree that the 2202-RT093 HKS 256 8.0mm lift cams will work with a MAP Ecu and TVIS. Reading the HKS cam cards I have show the 256 cams actually have way more duration than "256". Example: inlet opens 20 BTDC and closes 69 ATDC. Thats 269 deg.

The exhaust HKS 256 duration is even larger.Example: Exhast opens 62 BBDC and closes 38 ATDC. Thats 280 deg.
From this info 256 is only a model/part number and has nothing to do with camshaft duration.256 is not even the duation at 1mm lift. (218 deg at 1mm).

    Let the constructive criticism flow....

I'm running Clive's slightly modified version with more duration of the Wade's grind in my bigport running map, a little trial and error playing with the cam gears and it loves it. Interestingly enough I'm getting better fuel economy at the moment too which is a bonus.

I'll see if I can find the cam card and scan it in, TVIS still works fine. In my car fuel consumption has even slightly improved.

A friend once ran some 272 degree cams in his stock (I think MAP) bigport, just because he had them lying around. They worked and gave a performance improvement. I know no more than that though.

I'm running TRD 272's in my smallport with stock JDM ecu. Pure awesomeness, idle is a bit rough and rubbish when cold but who cares. It has higher compression than normal and needs a little advancement with ignition timing.
