im really looking foward to this. th cantonese live action movie was my fav more than the anime.

That's Legend of Speed you're thinking of. Directed by Andrew Lau; who also did the Initial-D movie. At they time, they based the movie off the Initial-D manga as the anime was just starting to be released (around 1999?). And it's got some really bad subtitling; there's a lot of little jokes in Chinese that's not picked up by the subtitles.
