what clutch do i need?

hey guys juat bought a ae71 with a 4age previous owner does not know what car the motor came out of as it was a fwd, its a 16v 4age bigport with tvis. my question is is there any way of knowing what size clutch i need with out takeing the gearbox off, dont have the time to take it off thw check then order! would like to buy it before i get thw gearbox off so i can do it all in one day. any info would be greatly appreciated!

well really there could be any size clutch in there, you can run all the sizes apart from GZE

Basically your options are a 200 or 212mm flywheel. You can't tell for sure until you've pulled it apart. However some parts places will let you buy both clutches and return the one you didn't need. Then you can get it all done in a day without the risk of guessing wrong.

But if you are dead set on guessing I'd guess 200mm.
