With my vvt is will stay on constantly as long as the blue indicator light is on, I don't think there is a problem with that because I think the Toyota ecu my model 20v was only rpm activated and not load or tps taken into account. as for my cold start it does suck with microtechs but I got a idle valve from an ae92 and bought a set thermistor (normally closed up to 60 degrees) then ziptied that around the heater housing on the engine block. it works pretty wellhow ever in the future when I rebuild my engine I am thinking of going the way of haltech...so much better !
I am using a Haltech ps1000, does the idle control, and the VVT plus more. The vvt is activated by rpm and throttle position. Very easy ECU to work with and tune
